Meet our team!

Colony Veterinary Hospital is proud to have a friendly and knowledgeable team. Our goal is to ensure that every visit makes our clients feel like they are part of our family.

Sarah Vineyard, DVM

Sarah Vineyard, DVM

Veterinarian

Originally from Michigan, Dr. Vineyard left the Midwest and moved to San Diego to pursue her career in Veterinary Medicine. Prior to purchasing Colony Veterinary Hospital in 2013, she had worked in several small animal practices in the San Diego area. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology as well as Animal Science at MSU. Dr. Vineyard is an active member of the American, California, and San Diego Veterinary Medical Associations as well as one of the very few Certified Veterinary Acupuncturists practicing in the San Diego area. She has a special interest in surgery, internal medicine, integrative medicine, chronic pain management and acupuncture.

Her passions include cooking, walking her energetic pups, and rooting for MSU sports teams. In her downtime, you can find her attending as many Bruce Springsteen concerts as possible!

She shares her household with her loving husband, Ben. The house is ruled by Mony (the wise springer/border collie mix), Wiggles (the always in motion Labrador… her name is very fitting), Skid Mark (a very sweet domestic shorthair), and Lucille Bald (a Sphynx that loves to cuddle, but also nibble on your ear).

When asked what her favorite part of her job is, she replied “Being able to share in the bond between pets and their people.”

Yen Chou, DVM

Yen Chou, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Chou received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Western University in 2009. She is also a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist, receiving this degree from the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine in 2008 while she was working on her DVM degree. After graduating, she spent time exploring the east coast to work in North Carolina prior to traveling back to the LA area to be closer to her family. She ventured back to sunny San Diego with her husband 3 years ago. Her compassion for animals is unparalleled. She is constantly pursuing additional training in the areas that she is passionate about, such as acupuncture. She is Fear Free certified and strives to make you and your pets’ visit as stress free as possible. She can be found occupying a comfy chair while reading, hiking the great outdoors, or enjoying music in her free time. Her furry feline family members go by the names Cinder and Stockings.

Angela King

Angela King

Practice Manager

Angela graduated from the University of New Hampshire before taking a long journey over to San Diego. She grew up volunteering in animal shelters. Her first job was as a kennel attendant at an animal hospital and it wasn’t long before she moved up to Veterinary Assistant. She has worked at small animal practices in NH and here in SoCal, where she managed a team of technicians. She hopped on board with CVH in early 2017 and says that the biggest draw to the hospital is the atmosphere. Clients and staff will feel like family when they walk through the door. She is loved by her 4 legged critters (Stinko the dog and Freddie the cat), but also has a 2 legged critter that calls her Mommy. She enjoys spending time in the outdoors at the beach, the zoos, and hiking.
Allison Kunic

Allison Kunic

RVT

Allison Graduated from Stanbridge University. She went on to work at a small animal hospital as a Veterinary Assistant. She’s worked hard to pursue her RVT license and started her journey at CVH at the beginning of 2017. Her devotion to the field can be seen when she arrives to work early and eager to help the clients/patients for the day. She enjoys being a surgical technician and strives to make sure your pet receives quality care. With the occasional need to sleep, Allison will probably be spotted hiking, snowboarding, or doing anything in the outdoors! Her 2 dogs (Lola and Kloe), 3 cats (Kip, Maui, and Ziggie), and her turtle Pasiden occupy her heart.

Ramona Esquivias

Ramona Esquivias

Technician Assistant

Ramona is committed to caring for the patients as if they were her own. She prides herself on client education. Using her Fear Free training, she works hard to make each visit a positive one. She finished a Veterinary Technician program through PIMA Medical Institute and went on to work at another small animal hospital for a couple years prior to devoting her time to CVH. Did we mention she has 6 dogs?! Lova, Chocho, Shiloh, Henry, Charlie, and Ki-Kin are very well behaved as she enjoys walking them all together! She also shares her love with her 3 cats, Mittens, P-Diddy, and Pantera. Aside from the animal world, Ramona enjoys movies, yoga, and spending time outdoors hiking or going to the beach. She’s been a part of the CVH family since early 2017.

Savannah Austin

Savannah Austin

Technician Assistant

Savannah started out as Client Service Representative at CVH in early 2018. She was also going to the PIMA Medical Institute to pursue a career as a Veterinary Technician. After finishing the technician assistant program, she’s decided to further her education. Currently working on obtaining her RVT, her dedication to the animals and her strong work ethic show that it will not be long before that happens. She spends her spare time road tripping with her fiance, playing video games, and spending quality time with family. She has 2 cats, Jack and Tora, a Dachshund mix named Buddy, and a bearded dragon named Maximus.
Lena Ngo

Lena Ngo

Technician Assistant, Client Service Representative

Lena is pursuing her dreams of becoming a veterinarian. When she’s not busy in class, she’s at the hospital learning as much as possible. Her attention to detail allows her coworkers to work seamlessly beside her to make sure the patients get the care they deserve. She really enjoys “helping to bridge the communication gap between humans and their furry family members.” Her hobbies include aerial silks/aerial straps, hiking, going to the beach, and spending time with her 5 dogs and 1 hamster.

Keeley Kenefick

Sarah is a California native that recently spent some time out in Colorado. While there, she helped manage an animal care facility that included a daycare, training facility, boarding, and grooming care. In her free time she enjoys sports games.
