Colony Veterinary Hospital is proud to have a friendly and knowledgeable team. Our goal is to ensure that every visit makes our clients feel like they are part of our family.
Sarah Vineyard, DVM
Dr. Vineyard received her doctor of veterinary medicine (DVM) from Western University of Health Sciences. She then earned her certification in veterinary acupuncture in 2008. Prior to completing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Vineyard received dual bachelor degrees in Zoology and Animal Science from Michigan State University while completing the prestigious residential science program through Lyman Briggs.
Originally from Michigan, Dr. Vineyard left the Midwest and moved to San Diego to pursue her career in Veterinary Medicine. She worked in several veterinary hospitals in the San Diego area prior to purchasing Colony Veterinary Hospital in 2013.
Dr. Vineyard is an active member of the American, California, and San Diego Veterinary Medical Associations as well as one of very few Certified Veterinary Acupuncturists practicing in the San Diego area. She has a special interest in surgery, internal medicine, integrative medicine, chronic pain management and acupuncture. Dr. Vineyard is a caring veterinarian whose warmth, intelligence, and patience have earned her the trust and admiration of her clients. She treats each pet as though they were her own and goes the extra mile to make sure that a visit to Colony Veterinary Hospital is a positive experience for both owners and their pets.
In her spare time, Dr. Vineyard enjoys going to the beach, cooking, movies, and watching college sports. She currently lives in Carlsbad with her husband, two cats and two dogs.
Jenny- Veterinary Assistant
Jenny joined our team in 2013 as a veterinary assistant. Jenny has a degree in Biology from UCSD and she is currently in the process of applying for vet school. Jenny’s favorite part of working in the veterinary field is seeing the smile on a happy client’s face when they know their pet is being well taken care of. She also fosters kittens for the San Diego County Department of Animal Services. In her free time, Jenny enjoys baking, eating out, and watching football (Go 49ers!)
Alex- Veterinary Assistant
Alex joined the Colony Veterinary Hospital family in July of 2013. Alex graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor’s degree in Biology. She has interned at Fund for Animals Wildlife Center in Ramona, CA as well as the Toledo Zoo in the Education Animal Center. Alex’s favorite part of working in the veterinary field is getting to see all the different personalities and relationships pets have with the owners. Alex shares her life with two cats named Chili and Pepper, which she rescued when they were just 3 weeks old. Alex also has a 9 year old chocolate labrador named Dakota. In her free time, Alex plays soccer with the San Diego Sea Lions – a semi professional team. Alex also loves softball, hiking, going to the beach, and hanging out with friends and family.
Ashleigh- Veterinary Technician
Ashleigh joined the Colony Veterinary Hospital family in 2014 as a veterinary technician. Ashleigh graduated from Rancho Cucamonga High School and has dedicated the last 6 years to becoming a veterinary technician. Her favorite thing about working in a veterinary hospital is working with the animals and assisting the doctor with new and interesting cases. Ashleigh finds great joy in helping animals that are sick or hurt regain their healthy lifestyles. Ashleigh also enjoys working with a team that shares the same passion for animals that she possesses. Ashleigh has a 4 year old Italian Greyhound named Vixen. Don’t tell Vixen this, but her mom says she is a very lazy couch potato and loves to sleep under the covers in bed at night! When Ashleigh has free time you can find her hanging out with her husband and Vixen at dog beach or relaxing and watching football.
Bob- Veterinary Technician
Bob joined our team in 2013 as a veterinary technician. He has worked in the veterinary field for 19 years and has a degree in Animal Science and Pharmacy Technician. Bob has completed several courses of continuing education throughout his career and always enjoys learning new techniques and skills. Bob’s favorite part of his day is welcoming clients and their pets to our hospital. He prides himself on his strong listening skills and his abilities to provide exceptional client service and pet care. In his free time, Bob enjoys reading, fishing, music, visiting art galleries and exploring San Diego.
Erin Lynch- Practice Manage
Erin has been a part of the veterinary field since 2006 as a veterinary technician and leader. Erin has worked in not only general practice hospitals like Colony Veterinary Hospital, but she has also worked in speciality and emergency medicine as a technician. Erin is currently working towards her bachelors degree in business management, and enjoys learning how to become a more effective leader. Originally from Phoenix, Erin and her husband moved to San Diego in 2011. In her free time, Erin enjoys spending time with her husband, bowling with friends, and enjoying the beach. She currently lives in Carmel Mountain with her husband, two cats (Optimus and Stella) and their dachshund (Bella).
